Sheila Stirling - is ...
Personally Speaking

As a child, I would wake up everyday to see the wording on my Holly Hobby lightcover and it said "Start each day in a happy way". Subconscious conditioning or what?!?...I now realize the impact that phrase has had on my life. Within the last few years I've discovered the power of words, thoughts and beliefs and how they are all connected.

I grew up in Port Credit, Mississauga. I went to Humber College and graduated with Public Relations Diploma. After college, my friend Barb and I, threw our belongings in a backpack, hopped on a plane and travelled through Europe for 2-1/2 months together. She then flew home and I stayed on for another 2-1/2 months, visiting relatives in Scotland and my sister who lives on the Isle of Man, UK.

Came home from Europe, got a job working for the Canadian National Sportsmen's Shows in the PR department. I got married at the age of 23, had my first son a year later and realized my priorities were changing. I wanted to be home more with him. And "just like that" a part-time freelance position became available to me with our sister magazine company, Outdoor Canada Magazine. One freelance job lead to another, which lead to another, until it was necessary for me to work full time as my marriage dissolved. And "just like that" one of the companies I was freelancing for offered me a full time position!!! "What a coincidence!" I stayed with that company for eight fantastic years.

I remarried and had another son who is an amazing blend of both of us. Shortly after that we moved to Grimsby, Ontario and this is when my personal development passion jumped in to high gear.

I started working part-time for a local chiropractor who encouraged his staff to read! What a concept. I loved to read as a child and then I fell victim to believe I didn't have time to read...and in honesty, I didn't make time to read because it wasn't a high priority. It's amazing how the suggestion from one person can alter the direction of one's journey. So my eyes, brain and heart were opened to a brand new world with the first book that we read as a group. It was by Joel Osteen, Live Your Best Life Now. And from that point forward there were new opportunities, new people and more books and seminars which has lead me along a wonderful path that I'm excited to share with you.

I have had the privilege of learning from Bob Proctor, Michael Losier, Shane Krider, Les Brown, Sam Crowley, Andy Andrews, Dani Johnston, John Kanary and many more. I spent two years dedicated to self awareness and self improvement and I am happy to know that we're all on a journey...and everyone gets to travel at their own speed. That was a huge relief to me, it meant I could truly relax and enjoy the process.

"Living a Charmed Life"

I always thought  I was so "lucky" because life has been good...and fairly easy. Then someone pointed out the following has happened in my life:
  • I've been involved in a car accident
  • I've had a miscarrage
  • I divorced
  • My dad died
  • My mum died two years later
  • and my second marriage dissolved

How lucky or charmed is that? Perhaps it's all perspective.

I am blessed. I have my health, two amazing sons, fantastic clients, a loving and supportive family (I'm the youngest of five siblings), I have survived the loss of both my parents and cherish the many friends that are in my life. I'm living in Grimsby and finally making time to write my book!

I look forward to getting to know you. Thanks for reading about me!
